When You Come In
CONSULTATION
On your first visit to our office you will receive a complimentary consultation. The doctor will sit down with you to discuss your health concerns or problems. This information will help to determine what course of examinations to take with your case.
CHIROPRACTIC EXAM
The doctor will perform the appropriate orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic testing. Your posture is the window to your spine, therefore a thorough postural analysis will be done as well as range of motion testing. The doctor will check your spine for proper function and show you areas of displacements or subluxations/misalignments. These examinations are used to determine if a subluxation is present with your spine and if chiropractic care would be beneficial to you.
X-RAY EVALUATION
If necessary, X-rays will be taken and developed in our office. X-rays allow us to see your problem, and enable us to explain the problem to you more easily. The X-ray films help determine the health of your spine, alignment, and if degeneration is present. With this information the doctor will be able to determine more exactly what is causing your problem and what course of treatment will correct it.
THE NERVOUS SYSTEM AND YOUR BODY
Nerve flow to the body is the key to optimal health. The brain sends messages to the body through the spine. Here is a before and after x-ray of a misaligned spine. In the misaligned spine, nerve flow is interrupted. Noticable symptoms may not be present at this time, In the corrected spine, the brain can send and receive uninterrupted messages to the entire body through the nerves, allowing the individual to have optimal health.
REPORT OF FINDINGS
During the report the Doctor will go over the findings from your examination and testing and let you know if your case will be accepted for care. He will explain any x-rays, findings, and answer any questions or concerns. The doctor will let you know how many treatments will correct the problem, how often he will need to see you and how much money it may cost. The doctor will go over his best recommendations for you.
- Relief Care- the first phase of care focused on getting rid of pain.
- Corrective Care- phase where care is continued to further correct your problem. During this phase, you are pain free, and continuing to work towards permanent correction and improve your body's function.
- Maintenance Care- is when the problem has been corrected structurely and the focus becomes maintaining results and further prevention. Maintenance is different for everyone.
The type of care you decide is up to you. The doctor's goal is to provide you with the information you need to make the best decisions for your own personal health care.
